Our Vision

Counseling is one tool in the many necessary for balancing a mentally healthy life. The Flow Centre is a multifunctional space to enjoy therapy as well as many other methods for investing in yourself such as meditation, self-development classes, and group activities. We want to empower you to diversify your options for mental health care.

Being in Mental Flow

Flow state is a positive psychology term that describes the state of mind achieved when performing an activity that creates full immersion, energizing focus or control, and transforms all sense of time. The more flow state people experience in their lives, the higher overall life satisfaction. Flow can happen during deep conversation, while engaging in work or practicing hobbies. Whether it’s adding more flow state to your life, or adopting a flow-like mentality towards your struggles, we’re here to help.

A Modern Approach

The Flow Centre emphasizes the use of :

  • Mindfulness-based practices. This approach teaches skills to quiet the mind, and create presence in the body by utilizing the senses.

  • Narrative Therapy is used to shed layers of identity that were adopted throughout life and challenge old belief systems that are creating stagnancy.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is the process of meeting yourself where you are at, and identifying values to commit to moving forward that will maintain alignment and authenticity.

    While these practices are our focus, we are trained in many techniques that can meet the needs of each individual.

Meditation for Mental Health

The Flow Centre marries mental health care and meditation by pulling from multiple philosophies to support a practice that is approachable to all and extracts medicine for mental healing. Meditation houses many core values that offer healing and growth to our clients including self-compassion, perspective taking, mental clarity, stress regulation and cognitive flexibility. We recommend combining both counseling sessions and guided meditation sessions for the full Flow Centre experience.

In-person and remote options

Feel free to book an in-person appointment at the office with comfortable counseling rooms and a beautiful open space for attending meditation and groups. If you don’t live in the Fort Collins area, we provide tele-therapy options through a confidential video conferencing platform. For free mental health content, follow us on instagram!
